Jimmy and Kevin decided that the argument had
gone on long enough, and that they needed to bring in a mediator to decide who
was the more respected and loved god. They knew they would have to be careful
about who they brought in as their mediator, they decided it had to be someone
equally as funny as them, famous, and someone with a fantastic voice. So
naturally they selected Hollywood’s own Robin Williams.
Robin was very honored and very nervous to be
selected as the gods mediator, he feared that if he chose wrong his life would
be a series of unfortunate events for the remainder of his days. Robin thought
long and hard about who the funnier god really was, and after a week he finally
came to a decision.
"Pick a number between 1 and 10," said
Robin to the gods.
"What?" said both the gods in
unison.
"You heard me, I can't decide whose funnier
so were you two are going to pick a number between 1 and 10 and whoever is
closest to my number wins." said Robin. Robin decided this was the only
way that he would not be spited by one of the gods, man was he wrong.
"Three," said Kevin
"Eight," said Jimmy
"The number I picked was 5, so Kevin you're
the funnier god," said Robin hesitantly.
Kevin obviously was extremely happy, but Jimmy
was pissed. He decided that even though the decision was fair that he was going
to curse Robin for not selecting him in the first place.
The eye of Jimmy Fallon was now cast on Robin
Williams.
Robin returned to his home in Chicago, where he
found his wife and children very sick with some incurable disease. Robin knew
this was the work of Jimmy. Days later his wife and children passed away and
Robin pleaded to Kevin Hart to bring his family back and save him from the
wrath of Jimmy. Kevin told Robin that he could not reverse what the god had
done, but that if he made it the sanctuary on Alcatraz Island, that the curse
would be lifted. That’s when Robin knew he must make it to Alcatraz to save
himself from this terrible curse.
This was much easier said than done. First,
Robin decided he would fly to California, but every flight to California was
booked. He then decided he could just drive there, but every vehicle he got
into wouldn't start, even the greyhound bus. "Ill take the train," he
decided, but every train he even got near broke down. Robin knew that his
journey was going to be long and difficult, but the only way he was going to
get there was by walking.
So he started the 2,130-mile journey to the very
ironic sanctuary of Alcatraz Island.
On his journey Robin Williams faced many terrible and
challenging tasks.
First he had to get unstuck from the lamp, and help young
Aladdin defeat Jafar and escape poverty.
Next, he had to help Ben Stiller control and wrangle up all
the exhibits of the Natural History Museum.
Then, he had to act as cross dressing nanny in the movie “Mrs.
Doubtfire.’’
Finally, he had to live in and escape the wicked board game
prison of Jumanji.
After he finished all these tasks he was finally able to get
to Alcatraz. But when he was just about to step foot on the island, Jimmy
Fallon appeared and would not let him pass.
“You may have completed all the tasks, but you still have one
last one. You must make me laugh,” said Jimmy.
A moment hadn’t even passed when Robin whispered but one
word into Jimmy’s ear, and the god just paused for a second and fell over in
laughter.
When Jimmy finally got ahold of himself, he revoked the
curse he had set on Robin and even brought back Robin’s family.
To this day no one knows what single word Robin Williams whispered
in Jimmy Fallon’s ear, but all we do know is that the curse was lifted and
Robin was free at last.
Authors Notes: I really enjoyed the original "Evil Eye of Sani story so I just decided to change up the characters and the tasks that the protagonist had to go through to get rid of Sanis curse.
Ryan,
ReplyDeleteI couldn't help but laugh at the direction that this story took. It was very interesting to read. I know that you used a story from the Indian Folklore list, but I also kind of got a Hercules vibe from this story. In Hercules' legend he had to complete twelve different labors as an act of penance. One of which involved him dressing as a woman much like Mrs. Doubtfire.
I really like this story and the creativity that you put into it.
Ryan,
ReplyDeleteYour story was very interesting! I definitely was not expecting for it to focus so much on Robin Williams. I thought it was funny that you treated Robin's roles in films as tasks he had to complete to reach his destination. I do have one question though, is there a reason you chose different fonts for different parts of your story?
Ryan,
ReplyDeleteThis story was so creative! I love all those comedians so throwing them into one story was such a great idea. Robbin Williams was such a diverse actor. It was really neat how you incorporated a lot of the big movies that Robbin starred in into the story. I am interested why you chose to do different fonts for different sections of the story. The cliffhanger at the end of what the word was that made Jimmy Fallon laugh so hard was a great idea and kept the reader on edge. Good work!
